Cristino Gomez, 82, of Spotswood passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Saint Peter's University Medical Center, New Brunswick.
Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Cristino was raised in Brooklyn, New York. He lived in the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township for several years before settling in Spotswood in 2002. He retired in 2000 after more than 25 years as a Die Maker for Standard Folding Carton of Jackson Heights, New York. He spent many winning seasons managing various softball teams in Brooklyn, New York and, making yearly trips to Puerto Rico with those championship teams. He was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees.He was a very talented woodworker and after his retirement, he continued by doing carpentry around his home and the homes of his children. Above all, Cristino loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Predeceased by his son, Edwin in 2019, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia of Spotswood; his children, Mildred Conlon and her husband Craig, of Monroe Twp., Nanette Velez and her husband Edgar, of Monroe Twp. and, Jesse Gomez and his wife Brenda, of South Brunswick; his brother Luis Gomez of Brooklyn, New York; his sister Ramona Bravo of Orlando, Florida, and; his grandchildren Melissa, Melanie, Jennifer, Lauren and Nicholas.
