Edwin Gomez, 58, of Spotswood, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 18, 2019.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Ed lived in Iselin for 11 years before settling in Spotswood in 2001. For nearly 20 years, he was an offset printing pressman and mechanic with United Forms Finishing of Hillside. Ed had a terrific sense of humor and he was the jokester uncle to his nieces and nephews. Ed was the one that everyone turned to when something was broken or just didn't work. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, watching old movies, car shows and sci-fi episodes on TV. For many years he was in a bowling league at the former Edison Lanes. Above all, Ed enjoyed spending time with all of his family.
He is survived by his parents, Cristino and Patricia Gomez, of Spotswood; his siblings, Mildred Conlon and her husband Craig, of Monroe Twp., Nanette Velez and her husband Edgar, of Monroe Twp. and Jesus Gomez and his wife Brenda, of Kendall Park together with five nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday with a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial from St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg, followed by a committal service at Holy Cross Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home.
