John Bogus, Jr.

John Bogus, Jr., 81, of Sayreville passed away on June 13, 2019.

Born in Jersey City, John resided in South Brunswick prior to settling in Sayreville.  Prior to his retirement, John was employed as a truck driver for Hermann Transportation where he worked for 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  John spent many years active with the South Brunswick girls softball program where he served as a coach and also as the program director.  John also served as a parent volunteer for the South Brunswick Viking Marching Band.  John's volunteer activity for the band spanned over 15 years.  

John was an avid New York Giants fan  He loved to spend time fishing, working in his vegetable gardens, traveling, and was especially fond of spending time with his many grandchildren.

Predeceased by his parents, Mary and John Bogus and his daughter, Patricia Anne, whom from his first marriage, he is survived by is wife of 20 years, Deanna Bobash of Sayreville, his sister, Elizabeth Volk and her husband Walter of Brick, his daughters from his marriage to Patricia Ann; Frances Bogus of Sayreville, and Susan Osieja and her husband Shawn of Dayton.  John is survived by his children from his second marriage to Deanna; Keith Bobash and his wife Kathleen of East Brunswick,. Kirk Bobash and his wife Dorothy of Flemington, and Kelly Ortt and his wife Janice of East Brunswick, his treasured eight grandchildren; Timothy Bogus, Paul Fortin, Kyle Bobash, Nikki Ortt, Tyler Forrai, Michael Bobash, Cassidy Ortt, and George Urquhart 

Cremation was private.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at 12 noon at Spotswood Reformed Church, 429 Main Street, Spotswood, N.J. All are invited to join the family at a luncheon for both John and Deanna immediately following the Memorial Service at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 30 Crescent Avenue, Spotswood.
