Anne Marie Cronin, 73, of South Amboy, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 27, 2022 at JFK Medical Center, Edison, after a brief illness. Daughter of the late William and Marie (Kennedy) O’Leary, she was born in South Amboy and was a lifelong city resident.
She was employed by ER Squibb Pharmaceuticals for many years, and later worked for NMS, Edison, until finally retiring in 2009. Anne Marie was proud of her Irish heritage, and was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, South Amboy, where she was honored as Irishwoman of the Year in 2006. She was also a longtime member of the LMGA.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard “Dick” Cronin in 2010, and by her siblings, William and Edward O’Leary, and Peggy Wahler. She is survived by her children, Thomas Moran and his wife Donna of South Amboy and Cathy Moberg and her husband Doug of Martinez, CA; her grandchildren, Aidan Thomas Moran, Nicolette Marie Moran, Brielle Molly Moberg, and Erik Joseph Moberg; her sister, Mary Chodkiewicz and her husband Chud of Marshall’s Creek, PA; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8pm at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10:00am at the funeral home, followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Amboy.
