Anthony E. Borneo, 83, of Monroe Township passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 in New Brunswick.
Born in New York City, New York, he grew up in Astoria, Queens. After marriage, he lived in Peekskill, New York and Brighton, Michigan before settling in Monroe Township, NJ in 1969. He had a 35 year career with the Veteran’s Administration where he rose to the position of Director of the VA Supply Depot in Somerville, NJ. After retiring in 1993, he enjoyed 38 years of blessed time with his loving wife, Margaret. He loved golfing, traveling, cooking, and spending time with his five grandchildren. He treated others with love and respect and was an especially devoted husband, son, father, and grandfather. He took great joy in making others around him laugh and enjoy life as he did.
Predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Margaret, in January of this year, he is survived by his children Catherine and Joseph and his grandchildren Jason, Brian, Matthew, Lauren, and Nicholas.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 18th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. Funeral services will begin with 10:00 AM Blessing at the Funeral Home on Thursday, August 19th, followed by a 1:00 PM interment in Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, New York.
