Antonio Liberal Obituary

Antonio Liberal, 54, of Old Bridge Township, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Old Bridge Medical Center.

Born in Luanda, Angola, Tony was raised in Lisbon, Portugal and came to the United States at age 16. He lived in various parts of Hudson County and Elizabeth before settling in Old Bridge Township in 1998. He was employed by Allied Beverage of Elizabeth for the last 34 years as a driver. Tony enjoyed bike riding at the Jersey Shore, hiking on the trails at Cheesequake State Park, kayaking and fishing. He was an avid soccer fan and also coached his son's teams over many years. He loved entertaining and having a great time and he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Maria Liberal; his sons, Nicholas and Christopher Liberal; his parents, Antonio and Amalia Liberal; his brother Marco and his wife Lucia, and; his nephews and nieces, Mark, Adrian and (his Goddaughter) Cynthia Liberal, Michael and Catherine Calixto and Stephanie Calixto and her wife Carmen Arroyo, Alexa and Adrianna Ramos and, Justin and Nicollette Pinto.

Cremation is private. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, April 22nd, from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood.  In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Tony's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
