Augusta "Gussie" (Montalbano) Kochis, 89, of East Brunswick, died Sunday, September 9, 2012 at her home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Gussie was raised in Metuchen before settling in East Brunswick more than 60 years ago. Gussie was a loving mother and grandmother to her family. She was called "Grandma Gussie" by so many others who knew her because of her generosity and warmth. She enjoyed vacationing on Long Beach Island and visiting the Jersey shore. She was an animal lover with a soft spot for all cats. Gussie will be missed by all who knew her, especially all those in her Spotswood Shop-Rite social circle. She is predeceased by her husband, Louis Kochis in 2000. She is survived by her children, Lois Schallock of Helmetta, Alan Kochis of Morristown and Judy Kochis of East Brunswick; her grandchildren, Corey Anne Kochis and Alan Kochis and his wife Deana, and; her dear friend and neighbor, Nancy Clinton. Private funeral arrangements are entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood.
