Carol Teresa Chasan, 82, of Spotswood, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, August 18, 2024 in East Brunswick.
Born in New Brunswick, she was raised in New Brunswick and North Brunswick before settling in Spotswood in 1963. While raising her family, Carol worked for 16 years with the Spotswood Board of Education. Thereafter, she joined Staples Distribution in Dayton for nearly 20 years, before retiring in the mid-2020s. Carol was a very strong and fiercely devoted woman, who was there to help family and friends alike. She was always the hostess. Whether it be coffee and cake on the porch, around the dining room table or Sunday dinners Carol loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. She always said her life was complete when she became a Grandma / Mema. Although she cherished time spent with her family she always said being with her grandchildren really filled her heart. She never missed a sporting event, school play, or anything her grandchildren were involved in and would always cheer or yell as loud as she could to make sure they knew she was there.
Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Michael Chasan, in 2021 and her sister, Dolores Eisenbaugh and her husband Fred Eisenbaugh, and her brother in law Bill Chasan and his wife Janet Chasan and her parents Fred and Katherine. She is survived by her sons, Michael Chasan and his wife, Merrie and Steven Chasan and his wife, Mariellen, and; her grandchildren, Nicole Chasan and her husband, Josh Silverman, Kelsie, AJ and Emily Chasan.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, August 22nd, from 10:00 until 12:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. Interment will follow at 12:30 AM at Frost Woods Cemetery, East Brunswick.
