Catherine Marino Obituary

Catherine Marino, 97, of Spotswood, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge.

Born and raised in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, she also lived in Hollywood and Los Angeles, California and Jersey City before settling in Spotswood in 1959. She was a waitress in several area restaurants over many years, retiring in the early 1990s. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Old Bridge. She loved to travel, especially California and Florida and, she enjoyed spending time at Point Pleasant Beach, including walking, playing beach volleyball and just sitting in the sun. She looked forward to cooking and feeding her family and friends, taking trips to Atlantic City, playing bingo, watching baseball and playing rummy and scrabble.

Predeceased by her brother Anthony Petershack, she is survived by her children Anthony Marino, Kathleen Meagher and husband George, Michele Squire and husband Jeffrey and Jacqueline Smith and husband Brendan; her sister Barbara Casterline; her grandchildren Sheila, Shannon, Jessica, Alyssa, Jennifer and Christopher, and; her great-grandchildren Skylar, Jackson, Kyla, Brantley, Jack, Robert, Wyatt, Noah and Thomas.

Cremation was private. The family will receive family and friends at a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 13th, from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Catherine's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
