Catherine G. Voigt, 67, of Spotswood, passed away peacefully at her home after an extended illness, on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
A longtime Connecticut resident, she was born in New Haven, raised in Wallingford and, she also lived in Meriden before settling in Spotswood in 1999. She retired in 2024 from the Bilco Group of Hillside, where she was a manager for more than 20 years. She loved animals of all kinds, including dogs, reptiles and many other unusual species that her late husband, Charles, whom she adored very much, would bring home from time to time. She enjoyed working and keeping busy at home.
Predeceased by her husband, Charles Voigt, IV in 2023, she is survived by her sons, John McGlynn and his wife, Angela, Edward McGlynn and, her step-son, Joseph Voigt and his wife, Amanda; her siblings, Thomas and Robert Grady, Margaret Staines and Mary Beth Trautman, and; her grandchildren, Piper, Logan and Hazel Voigt.
Funeral services will be held at Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 South Main Street, Plantsville, Connecticut, with a visitation and service beginning at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 24th, followed by committal in the South End Burying Ground, Plantsville, Connecticut. Local funeral arrangements were entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home.
Donations honoring Catherine’s memory may be made to a local animal rescue of one’s choice.
