Born and raised in Scotland, Irene came to the United States in 1959 and lived in Kearny, Lake Hopatcong and North Arlington before settling in Spotswood in 2011. Predeceased by her son David Bryson, she is survived by her daughter Elaine McQueen and husband James of Florida; her brother Billy Russell of England and her sister Anne Duguid of Scotland; her grandchildren who lovingly called her "Granny Banany," Gary McQueen and his wife Tricia and Greg McQueen and his wife Lexi; her great-grandchildren Gavin, Kellan and Isla, and; many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to recognize and thank her dear friend and caretaker, Jane Galasso, for all that she did for Irene over many years and, also her wonderful and close friends Tess, Chris, Nina, Joe and Pablo and Frank (may he rest in peace).
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 1st from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home at 475 Main Street, Spotswood. A private cremation will follow.
