Charles Brown, Sr., 71, of Monroe Township, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 in Old Bridge. Born and raised in Old Bridge, Charlie settled in Monroe Township in 1968. He retired from the former Armin Noe and Son Drywall Company of Sayreville after nearly twenty years as a drywall finisher. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also raised and raced trotters for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Joan (David) Brown of Monroe Twp.; his children, Dawn Brown of Jackson, Tina Raab and her husband Jason, of Shamokin, PA, Jody Ann Kirwin and her husband Steve, of Catawissa, PA and, Charles Brown, Jr. of Monroe Twp.; his sisters, Myrtle Nash of Jackson, Nancy Brown of South River and, Linda Brown of Old Bridge, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Wednesday, from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, with interment to follow in Old Tennant Cemetery, Manalapan. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
