In Loving Memory of Charles F. Plantz
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Charlie — a kind, steady soul whose quiet presence made a lasting impact on all who knew him. Never one to seek the spotlight, Charlie lived a life marked by humility, loyalty, and quiet strength.
His best friend, Anthony Zema, was a brother to him. Their bond, built over years of trust and shared experiences, was unshakable and deeply cherished.
Charlie, a passionate fan of the Yankees and Elvis, devoted much of his life to ShopRite, which for him was more than just a workplace — it was a second family. He showed up each day with quiet dedication and pride, earning the deep respect of those around him. His steadfast presence became a foundation of the ShopRite community.
To those in Spotswood, Charlie was something of a local legend — riding his bike down Summerhill Road, day after day, year after year. He was woven into the rhythm of the town, and his absence will be deeply felt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Patricia Plantz; his siblings Eddie, Tommy, Theresa, and Jim Plantz; and his niece Michelle Tallman. He is survived by his grandnieces and grandnephews — Nicole Dinin, Jess Tallman, Alex Stiefel, Robin Stiefel, and Karlee Hultquist — as well as his nephew James Plantz Jr. and his sister-in-law Joyce Plantz.
Charlie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the life he lived, the love he gave, and the quiet strength he carried.
A private cremation was entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home.
