Christine Cathcart

Christine Cathcart, 79, of Monroe Township passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 in Princeton.

Born and raised in Paterson, Christine spent many years in Hawthorne, Franklin Township (Somerset County) and Monroe Township before moving to Townshend, VT, where, together with her husband Kenneth, they owned and operated the Olde Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast from 2002 until 2018 before returning to Monroe Township. Christine was a long time member of the Spotswood Reformed Church where she sang in their choir. She received her BA in accounting from Rutgers University after attending part time for nine years. She then went on to receive her MBA from Ryder University. She worked for twenty years as the comptroller and vice president of the former Raritan Periodicals of Edison before retiring in the late 1990s. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and creating fabric angel Christmas ornaments. She enjoyed singing, watching boxing and tennis and, she was very involved in Project Linus, a national organization that made blankets for underprivileged children. In her ten years with the project, she was part of a team that distributed more than ten thousand blankets.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Kenneth Cathcart, and; her daughters, Dorothy Martin and Lenora Oros and her husband Jay.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Monday, October 31st from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, followed by interment in Spotswood Reformed Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 30th from 1:00 until 5:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
