Cindy M. Adelung, 63, of Jackson Township, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, after a brief illness.
Cindy was born in New Brunswick and raised in Helmetta before settling in Jackson Township in 1985. She was a 1979 graduate of Spotswood High School. She retired in 2007 after 25 years with McMaster-Carr in Dayton, where she worked as a purchasing agent. She enjoyed travelling, spending time with her cat and dog, softball, bowling, jet skiing and scuba diving. She was a dog therapist with Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dog Organization. Working with the dogs always brought a smile to Cindy’s face.
Predeceased by her father, Harold Messler, Sr. in 2000, she is survived by her husband of 39 years, Wayne Adelung, Jr. (formerly of Spotswood); her siblings, Harold Messler, Jr., Joseph Messler and Bonnie Messler; her mother, Darlene Messler, and her nieces and nephews, Matthew and Dan O’Brien and Rachel, Olivia and Russell Messler.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Friday, February 14th, from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, followed by committal in the Spotswood Reformed Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 13th, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
