The world just got a bit darker because we’ve lost one of our truly bright lights. Deborah Armhold passed away on September 29, 2023.
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Debbie was raised in Jackson and also lived in Freehold before settling in Spotswood in 1989. She worked as a scheduler at University Radiology Group of East Brunswick. She loved gardening, giraffes, dolphins, hummingbirds, cruises, and watching her daughter and her grandchildren on stage. Debbie would help absolutely anyone, and she was incredibly generous and supportive. Together with her late husband Brian, they both worked very hard to save up money to give their only daughter, Heather, everything she needed and wanted. Her favorite thing to say was “I love you to the moon and back.” It was also pretty cool that she could share shoes with Heather.
Sadly, Debbie just needed to be with her husband and she was feeling tired. They are together now and that’s all that can be said.
Predeceased by her parents, John and Ruth Hornung and, her husband, Brian Armhold in October 2018, she is survived by her daughter, Heather Armhold and her husband, Patrick Fry; her grandchildren, Carter, Gabrielle, Zachary and Xavier Armhold; her siblings, Dawn Amzler and her husband, Glenn, John Hornung and his wife, Debra, Teresa Smith and her husband, Raymond and, Christopher Hornung; her best friend Susan, and; her border collie Skylar.
The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, October 7th, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM, at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Debbie's memory may be made to: The American Heart Association or The Hummingbird Garden.
