Eleanor Richter

Eleanor (Beckmann) Richter, 79, of Helmetta, died peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at her home. Born and raised in New York City, Eleanor lived in Spotswood for many years, settling in Helmetta in 1982. She retired in 1983 as a beautician with the former Michael's Trend Setters of Jamesburg. Together with her husband Ed, Eleanor owned standard bred horses and enjoyed horseracing at Freehold and Meadowlands racetracks. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Edward Richter of Helmetta; her sons, Edward Joseph Richter and his wife Debra, of Milltown and Ernest Richter and his wife Kathleen, of Spotswood, and; her grandchildren, Brian, Brittany, Patrick, Steven and Michael. Funeral services will be at 10:15 AM Saturday from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, followed by interment in the Reformed Church Cemetery, Spotswood. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home, with a Panachida service at 8:00 PM.
