Elizabeth M. Herczegh, 79, of Spotswood, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Born and raised in Hungary, Elizabeth came to the United States at 10 years old with her family and settled in Spotswood. She was a long-time communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. She retired in 2013 from Foley, Inc. of Piscataway, where she worked as a clerk for thirty one years. She was a very generous and giving person who supported many causes. She looked forward to her yearly trips to Hungary to see family. She also treasured her Cape May vacations for over forty years.
Predeceased by her son, Stephen John Herczegh in 2006 and her siblings, Ann Csaszar and Theresa and Fred Soos, she is survived by her husband, Istvan Herczegh; her son, John Herczegh; a brother, Laszlo Soos, and; her grandchildren, Jordan and Jonathan Herczegh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 21st, from Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, April 21st, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Elizabeth’s memory may be made to the Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
