Florence C. Meyers, 88, of Monroe Township, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 23, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Brunswick, Florence lived in Spotswood and Monroe Township for most of her life. She retired in 2007 after more than 20 years of service as a caregiver for the State of New Jersey. Florence enjoyed going on cruises and attending plays and live shows. She was active in the Alzheimer's Foundation, the Monroe Township Mother's Club and the South Brunswick Senior Center. She was known for her cooking and her wonderful jitterbug dancing. Above all else Florence cherished time spent with her family and grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband John Meyers Sr. (1984); her son John Meyers Jr. (2000); and her sister Marion Hayden, she is survived by her children, Thomas and Irene Meyers, George Meyers Sr. and his wife Denise, Joseph Meyers and his wife Alice, James Meyers and his wife Dawn and Peter Meyers; her siblings, Nancy Sturm and Husband Henry, Henry Bruning and wife Cindy, John Bruning and wife Denise; her grandchildren, Christopher, Kai Keri, Nicole, George Jr., Chris, John, Cheyenne, James, and Joseph; her great-grandchildren, Isabella, Andrea, Samuel, Melanie, Jordani, George III, William, John Jr. Amilia, Autumn, James and Lilith, and; her dearest friend, Monica Shostack.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Monday, November 3rd at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Spotswood, followed by interment in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Family and friends may call on Sunday November 2nd, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. In lieu of flowers, donations in Florence's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
