Frances L Tooker

Frances Lavonia Tooker, 84, of East Brunswick, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born to Luther and Myrtle (Smith) Eakes in Gladesville, Tennessee, Frances was raised there before spending several years in Pana, Illinois finally settling in East Brunswick in 1959. She retired in 1980 from the JC Penney Co. of East Brunswick after more than 20 years as a bookkeeper. She cherished spending time with her family and very much enjoyed crocheting and quilting. Predeceased by her husband Harry in 2011, and her siblings, Estel Ray and Luther Hoyt Eakes, Mildred Harrison, Maxie Lee Williams and, Margaret Helen Tomlinson, she is survived by her son, Russell Tooker and his wife Laurie of Rennsselaer, NY; her daughter, Susan Milko and her husband Joseph of Monroe Twp; her brother, Smith "Bud" Eakes of Tennessee; her grandchildren, Jeff Tooker and his wife Christie, James Tooker and his wife Amy and Nicholas and Gregory Milko, and; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, with interment following at the Reformed Church Cemetery, Spotswood. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Donations honoring Frances' memory may be made to a charity of one's choosing.
