Haydee Lewis, 70, of Monroe Township, passed away on Sunday, February 23rd at her home.
Born and raised in Morovis, Puerto Rico, Haydee moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1970 and then settled in Monroe Township in 2004. She was a very generous woman who would help anyone that needed something. She enjoyed cooking, especially her famous Spanish rice, trips to Atlantic City and playing the card game "31."
Predeceased by her brothers, Emilio, Hildo and Jesus Marrero Sandoval, she is survived by her husband of 48 years, Marcus Lewis of Monroe Township; her children, Benjamin Lewis and his wife Tara, of Marlboro and Jennifer Berfond and her husband Philip, of Staten Island, New York; her siblings, Antonio, Blanca, Isabel and Flor Maria Marrero Sandoval; her in-laws, Annette Dickerson, Rose Lauro, Alan Lewis and Karen Zingaus, and; her grandchildren, Alexa and Olivia Berfond and Andrew, Jason and Jonathan Lewis.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Thursday, February 27th from Spotswood Funeral Home at 475 Main Street, Spotswood, followed by an 11:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial from Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will be in the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, February 26th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
