Henriqueta Pereira, 69, of Hillside passed away at her daughter's home in Spotswood after a lengthy illness.
Born and raised in Gondomil, Portugal she lived in Mozambique, Africa, where she met her husband, before coming to the United States in 1982, living first in Newark before settling in Hillside. She worked as a seamstress before retiring in the 1990s. She was very artistic and enjoyed crocheting, crafting and, of course, sewing. She was very faithful and enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren and traveling.
Predeceased by her 5 siblings and her grandson Samuel Crisafuli, she is survived by her husband of 51 years, Manuel Pereira; her daughters, Celia Caro of Spotswood and Ana Cristafulli and husband John of Toms River, and; her grandchildren Sebastien, Cyril and Catalina Caro and Sarah and Briana Crisafulli.
A graveside service will take place at 11:45 AM Monday, February 8th, at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 7th from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions placed on gatherings and activities, all current guidelines are to be observed during visitations, including the use of face coverings and social distancing.
