Jean Gerber Obituary

Jean L. Gerber, 78, of Old Bridge, sadly passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when her family needed her.

Born in Perth Amboy, Jean was raised in South River before settling in Old Bridge.. She worked as a bookkeeper for New Brunswick Scientific Company of Edison for 25 years before retiring. Together with her late husband, Bob, she was a parishioner of St. George's Anglican Church, Helmetta. Jean enjoyed reading, playing board games, trips with her husband, Bob, to Atlantic City and, Mickey Mouse and Tweety Bird. But most of all, she enjoyed being a Wife, Mom and Grandma and she will be missed very much.

Predeceased by her loving husband, Robert C. Gerber, her parents, William and Jennie Kamont, her brother, William S. Kamont, her son-in-law, Mark Petrik, her sister-in-law, Joan Wilson and, brother-in-law, Walter Wilson, she is survived by  her sons, Edward Czech, Jr., of Old Bridge, Robert Gerber, Jr. and his wife, Yen, and daughter, SanSan Ly of Arlington, TX; her daughters, Roberta A. Petrik and granddaughter, Sarah, of Bloomfield, Christine L. Roberts and her husband, Chad, of Torrance, CA, and; her brother, Edward Kamont and his wife, Laurie, of Somerset.

Private cremation was entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home. Jean's ashes and those of her dearest husband, Bob, will be interred on the grounds of St. George's Church, Helmetta, on Saturday, November 4th, at 1:00 PM.
