Jonathan M. Ramirez, 20, of Spotswood passed away on Sunday, January 17th at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident in Manalapan.
Johnny was born and raised in The Bronx, New York and lived in Carteret before settling in Spotswood in 2012. He was a 2018 graduate of Spotswood High School where he was a varsity member of the Chargers wrestling team. In addition, he played lacrosse for the East Brunswick Blackhawks and Spotswood Little League baseball. He enjoyed skate and snowboarding, collecting high-end sneakers, tinkering with his car and cooking with his mother and he was also an avid video gamer. From 8th grade through his high school years, Johnny participated in the Spotswood Police Department Junior Police Academy. He was employed for one and half years by UPS before going to work for Fedex 3 months ago.
Predeceased by a grandfather, he is survived by his mother and stepfather, Keesha and Nelson Sanchez and his father and stepmother, Miguel and Erica Ramirez; his siblings, Daniel Sanchez, Maximus, Mia and Miguel Ramirez, Jr; his grandparents, Paul and Elizabeth Rodriguez and Carolyn Soldi-Centore and Frank Centore, and Ruth Lillian Veras, and; his great-grandmother, Carmen Rodriguez.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Spotswood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Manalapan Road Spotswood. Funeral services will begin with a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial from the Church on Thursday morning. Cremation will be private. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions placed on gatherings and activities, all current guidelines are to be observed during visitations, including the use of face coverings and social distancing.
