Joseph “Moe” DiPietro, 104, of Monroe Township passed away peacefully at his home, on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
Born and raised in Jamesburg, Moe lived in East Brunswick for many years before settling into the Encore Community of Monroe Township. He served honorably in the South Pacific Theater during WWII with the United States Army Air Forces. After his discharge, he became a heavy equipment operator and instructor with the Operating Engineers Local 825, Jamesburg, retiring in 1983 after 38 years of service. Moe was an avid golfer after his retirement and he also enjoyed travelling with his late wife, Ann. He was very talented in his ability to build or fix nearly anything. He was nicknamed “The Mayor” because of his outgoing personality and the fact that he knew someone almost anywhere he went.
Predeceased by his wife of over 72 years, Ann, in 2023, his siblings, Nancy Cerretti, Tony and John DiPietro and Sarah Devoe, he is survived by his children, Milton and Janis DiPietro; grandchildren, Justin DiPietro and Amanda Reed, and; great-grandchildren. Amber Reed and Stellan DiPietro.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17th at 10:30 AM at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ under the direction of Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Spotswood. Please gather at the main office upon arrival and we will be escorted to our service location from there.
