Joseph J. Gullo, 96, of Edison, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in Edison Twp.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he also lived in Far Rockaway and Queens, New York before coming to Monroe in 1972. In 2019, he moved to Asbury Park to be in a place he truly loved: the Jersey Shore. Sgt. Gullo proudly served his country in the United States Army's 1st Infantry Division, " The Big Red One." Joe retired in 1999 from the former Carter Wallace Company, formerly of Cranbury, where he was chemical operator for many years. He enjoyed solving puzzles, listening to music, dancing and cheering on his New York Yankees.
Predeceased by his wife Rose in 2012, he is survived by his children Vito Gullo and Gina Jimenez and her husband Jeffrey, and; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 6th, from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 5th, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Joe's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
