Joseph B. High, Jr.

Joseph B. High, Jr., 97, of Spotswood, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Roosevelt Care Center, Old Bridge Township.

Born and raised in Whiteville, North Carolina, Joe lived in Spotswood from 1960 until 1985 when he retired to Powderhorn Mountain in Boone, North Carolina. He returned once again to Spotswood in 2017. He served honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He retired in 1985 from the Ford Motor Company assembly plant in Edison after 30 years of service. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and watching the Atlanta Braves.

Joe was the last of six children. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Nancy; his children, Joseph, III and his long-time companion Rebecca Garson, Margaret Guzik and her husband, Mitchell, Jeffrey and his wife, Maura, George, Gerald and his wife Cheri and Jennifer Llona and her husband, Ignacio; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A private cremation was entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date to be held at the Campbell Memorial Chapel, Powderhorn Mountain, Boone, North Carolina.
