Joseph McCormack, 84, of Monroe Township, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Born in South Amboy, Joe lived in Parlin until 1964, when he settled in Monroe Township. He worked as a Chemical Operator for DuPont in Parlin for 35 years, retiring in 1994.
Of all the things Joe loved to do, spending time with his family and grandchildren was the most important.
He enjoyed watching football, tinkering with and fixing anything that needed repairs and was always willing to help anybody out who needed it. He was a social member of the East Brunswick American Legion Post 177 and the Spotswood VFW Post 4589.
Predeceased by his son, Matthew McCormack in 2019 and his sisters, Anne Birardi and Patricia Burgeron, he is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Joann McCormack; his children, Joseph McCormack, III and his wife, Patricia, Lisa Macyda and her husband, Ronald, Kelly Turkowitz and her husband, Andrew and Christopher McCormack and his wife, Trisha; a sister, Elizabeth Whitson; his grandchildren, Jessica, Candice, Michaela, Devin, Sara, Emma and Christopher, and; a great-grandson, Shiloh.
Cremation is private. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Friday, May 31st, from 4:00 until 9:00 PM at the Spotswood VFW Post 4589 on Daniel Road in Spotswood.
