Kenneth Weems Obituary

Kenneth Allen Weems, 78, of Parlin passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020. He was born on May 17, 1941 in Kings County Hospital, Brooklyn, NY to Lois and Charles Weems and was the youngest of two sons. He was raised in the Marcy Houses, Brooklyn, NY where he attended Elementary School, Junior High School and High School. He learned many trades which he applied throughout his life, but he excelled in mathematics. He worked as a toy maker for the Mattel Toy Company. He was a Chauffer, a shoe repairman, a cab driver for Black Pearl Car Service and a bartender in Brooklyn, NY. And last but not least, an installer and maintainer of garage doors and lift gates. 

He was the Patriarch of the Fonville Family.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Charles Weems, his Brother Charles Emanuel Weems and his nephew Bruce Earl Weems.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his eight children, Constance "Connie" Robinson, Kenneth "Butch" Weems, Jr, Gloria "Reese" Walker-Nelson, Lois "Kelly" Sarmiento, Brian "Keith" Weems, Manual "Manny" Weems, Sr. and Jason Andrews; seven additional children who referred to him as dad, Boo Shay, Ronnet, Selena, Lee, Shaheem, Daniel and Danielle; his sons in-law, Richard Sarmiento, Zabar Nelson and Charles Robinson;  a daughter in-law Nitza Plaud-Weems; thirteen grandchildren, Terell, Leonard III, Tyron, Keniesha, Xavier, Brandon, Gabrielle, Justin, Imoni, Manny, Jr., Giselle, Jalen and  Ja'Niya. By marriage six additional grandchildren, Terrin, Sharnice, Anthony, Nkenge, Ashley and Anita; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and; his uncle, Fred Weems and a host of cousins and friends.

Daddy you leave a huge legacy and your job here is complete under Gods divine order. We all loved you but God loves you best.

Rest on Dear Dad.
