Maria T. Andrade, 93, of Monroe Township passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
Born and raised in Portugal, she came to the United States in 1950 and lived in Newark and the surrounding areas in addition to Forked River before settling in Monroe in 2016. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She was also a very caring, giving and compassionate person. Maria looked forward to her many trips to Portugal where she visited with family.
Predeceased by her husband Julio in 2001, she is survived by her daughters, Antoinette Schattner of Monroe Township and Marlene Mayers and her husband John of West Milford; her brother Helder Trindade of Portugal; her grandchildren Danielle, Leigh, John and Brendan, and; her great-grandchildren Leo and Roman.
Final services will begin with an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, September 14th from Saint James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg. Interment will be in the General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 13th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home located at 475 Main Street, Spotswood.
