Maria Rogers

Maria Rogers, 86, of Helmetta, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Centra-State Medical Center, Freehold.

Born in West New York, she was raised in Cliffside Park and East Brunswick before settling in Helmetta ten years ago. She retired in the mid-1990s after working 20 years as a secretary for Pathmark Grocers in Avenel. Maria enjoyed baking, sewing, playing the piano and travelling both in the United States and abroad. Above all else, she enjoyed time spent with her family.

Predeceased by her husband, Thomas Rogers in September 2021, she is survived by her children, Thomas Rogers and his wife, Cindi, Lise Franchette and her husband, Frank and, Lori Johnston; her sister, Michele Conrey, and; her grandchildren, Matthew and Jordan Rogers, Corinne and Chelsea Franchette and, Greg, Carly and Glen Johnston.

Cremation was private. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 11th, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Maria’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
