Martha Theresa Belmont, devoted mother, grandmother, sister passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born and raised in New York City to Roger and Martha Ryan, Martha grew up with a deep sense of family that shaped her life’s greatest joys. While living in New York City, she met her husband, John. Together, they built a beautiful life, eventually buying a home in Helmetta, New Jersey, where they raised their five children: David, Danielle, Deborah, Dana, and Diana.
Her family was the heart of everything she did. She found immense pride and happiness in watching her children grow and was later blessed with three grandchildren — Rhys, Ava, and Rose — who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her two loving sisters, Dolores and Margaret, and was predeceased by her siblings Jennie, Katherine, and Roger.
Martha’s passions brought warmth and joy into the lives of all who knew her. She had a playful spirit and an infectious laugh that could light up any room. She loved days at the beach, tending her garden, and sharing her love through home-cooked meals. Her nurturing spirit, generosity, and loving nature will live on in the traditions and memories she passed down to her family.
Martha’s legacy is one of love, strength, and devotion. Being a mother and grandmother were her greatest joys and her lasting legacy. She leaves behind a family who will forever be grateful for the gift of her life.
A service celebrating Martha’s life will be held at Spotswood Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15th at 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM, followed by burial at Holy Cross Burial Park in Jamesburg.
