Mary Ellen Kelly, 62, of Spotswood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Mary Ellen carried her roots proudly—her sharp wit, strong spirit, and deep loyalty to family were trademarks she never lost. In 1971, she moved with her family to Spotswood, New Jersey, where she would build a life filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections that spanned decades.
Mary Ellen dedicated 28 years of her professional life to Lifetime Brands in Robbinsville, NJ, where she served as a Senior Purchasing Manager. She was respected for her work ethic, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment, forming lasting friendships with colleagues who admired her both professionally and personally.
Outside of work, Mary Ellen found joy in the simple and beautiful moments of life. She loved cooking and entertaining, often bringing people together around a table filled with warmth, great food, and laughter. Music was a constant companion—especially live concerts and country music—and she never missed the chance to sing along. She also delighted in her cherished collection of Wizard of Oz memorabilia, a reflection of her playful spirit and belief in a little bit of magic.
Above all else, Mary Ellen’s greatest joy was her family—her daughter, Nikole, was the light of her life, along with her two beloved granddaughters, Lillian and Briella. Being their mother and grandmother were the roles she treasured most. Whether it was sharing stories, making memories, or simply being present, her love for them was endless and unconditional.
Mary Ellen was predeceased by her parents, Pasquale (Pat) and Elizabeth (Betty) Orzo. She is survived by her loving daughter, Nikole Ruffley, her siblings, Carolyn Orzo and life companion Jeff Kimberlin, George Orzo and his wife Linda, and her adored granddaughters, Lillian and Briella Ruffley, who will carry her love and memory with them always.
Cremation will be private. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Mary Ellen’s life on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Mary Ellen’s memory may be made to The American Diabetes Foundation, in recognition of a woman whose kindness, strength, and love left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.
