Michael L. Elfert, 75, of Bayville, passed away at his winter home in Fort Myers, Florida on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Born in Mankato Minnesota, Michael was raised in Amboy, Minnesota and also lived in Duluth, Minnesota and San Francisco, California before settling in Bayville, New Jersey in 1996. He retired in 2015 after nineteen years with Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, where he was Director of Information Systems. He enjoyed boating and fishing, spending time at the beach, tubing with his children and grandchildren on the Barnegat Bay, cooking, entertaining, and an “occasional” Crown Royal and 7-Up.
Predeceased by his parents, Jerome and Viola (Weingart) Elfert and, his sisters, Judy Elfert and Mary Doyle, he is survived by his wife, whom he was together with for almost 40 years, Maria (Spicuzza) Elfert; his children, Nichole Carlson and her husband, John and, Benjamin Elfert and his wife, Becky; his brothers, Joseph and Jerome Elfert; his grandchildren, Holden Elfert, Elias, Marcus, and Sam Carlson, and; his adopted grandchildren, Gabriella, Sofia and Juliana Gonzalez.
Funeral services will begin with a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 10th, from Immaculate Conception RC Church, Spotswood, followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like everyone to remember Michael by raising a Crown Royal and 7-up and toasting his memory.
