Michelle Y Boreas

Michelle Yvonne Boreas, 53, of Spotswood, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital after an extended illness.

Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, Michelle came to the United States at an early age and was raised in Sayreville and East Brunswick before settling in Spotswood in the mid-2000s. She worked as a bartender for many years at the former Cambridge Inn of Spotswood and Lory's Lakeside of North Brunswick. For the last few years she was a receptionist at Simply Nails in East Brunswick. Michelle loved meeting new people and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed going to the beach and trying new restaurants. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She was a very kind, intelligent, empathetic, and loving woman who cared deeply for everyone she knew, no matter how long.

Predeceased by her parents, Willem and Josephine Boreas, she is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Opitz and Samantha Opitz and her fiancé Cameron DeMarco; her son Paul Boreas, her brother Andre Boreas, and; her grandchildren Giovanni, Ava and Makayla DeMarco.

The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, April 23rd, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to a GoFundMe account that has been started.
