Miriam Buchman

Miriam Buchman, 96, of the Greenbriar at Whittingham Community of Monroe Township, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025 in New Brunswick.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Miriam settled in Monroe Township in 2000. For more than 20 years, she worked as a para-professional for the New York City Department of Education, retiring in the 1990s.

Predeceased by her parents, her husband, Bernard Buchman and her daughter, Elyse Tyrell Buchman, she is survived by her sons, Jeffrey, Craig and Darren Buchman; her brother, Lenny Tarr; six grandchildren, and; one great-grandchild.

A graveside service be held on Thursday, October 9th at 11:30 AM, at Mount Hebron Cemetery, 130-04 Horace Harding Parkway, Queens, New York, under the direction of Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Spotswood. We ask that everyone meet at the cemetery office prior to the start of the service.
