Nancy Marie (Frederick) High, 97, of Spotswood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Parker at Monroe, Monroe Township.
Born and raised in Elizabeth, Nancy lived in Spotswood from 1960 until 1985 when she retired to Powderhorn Mountain in Boone, North Carolina. She returned once again to Spotswood in 2017. She was a graduate of Monmouth Memorial Nursing School in 1948. Afterwards, she worked as a Registered Nurse for the former Princeton Hospital until retiring in 1985. She enjoyed reading, traveling, music, vacations at the beach and spending time with her family. While living in North Carolina, Nancy was active with the Powderhorn Mountain Fire Department.
Predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Joseph High, in February 2024 and, her brother, George Frederick, she is survived by her children, Joseph, III and his long-time companion Rebecca Garson, Margaret Guzik and her husband, Mitchell, Jeffrey and his wife, Maura, George, Gerald and his wife Cheri and Jennifer Liona and her husband, Ignacio; a sister, Sally Boetel Engelke; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A private cremation was entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date to be held at the Campbell Memorial Chapel, Powderhorn Mountain, Boone, North Carolina.
