Nancy Ritz Obituary

Nancy T. Ritz, 93, of Old Bridge Township, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 5, 2025, peacefully in her home.

Born in New Brunswick and raised in Edison, Nancy made her home in Old Bridge in 1955, where she built a beautiful life filled with family, faith, and love. She graduated from Rutgers University and was a proud member of the National Honor Society. In her younger years, she worked at Squibb Meyer before beginning her long career as a dedicated Sales Associate with AT&T in New Brunswick, retiring in 1999. She also spent time as a substitute teacher, sharing her love of learning with students in her community. In addition, Nancy gave back to her town as a member of the South Old Bridge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary during her younger years.

A woman of deep faith, Nancy was a devout Catholic and a proud communicant of Saint Thomas the Apostle Church in Old Bridge, where her faith was the cornerstone of her life.

Nancy’s joy was found in life’s simple but meaningful moments—knitting, reading, and sharing laughter with her family. Nancy had several family traditions she loved and insisted on having them continued long after she had to stop hosting, Easter Bread baking, Easter Egg hunts, Christmas Eve Feast and lasagna dinner on New Years Day.  She and her beloved late husband, Robert, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage, loved traveling, taking cruises near and far, and even line dancing together. Their adventures and companionship remain a cherished part of her story.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Ritz, in 2021, and her siblings, Margaret Holzinger, Yolanda Payne (who heartbreakingly passed away just one day before Nancy), Josephine DeLiberto, and Katherine Thompson. She leaves behind a brother Joseph Tripod and, a sister, Mary Tripod.

Nancy leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Robert Ritz, Jr. and his wife, Irene; Tim Ritz and his wife, Judy; and Virginia Kilduff and her husband, Denis; She will be missed by her adored grandchildren: Erik Ritz, Corey Ritz, Casey Weir, and Denis Kilduff Jr. Nancy’s light also shines on in her great-grandchildren: Kaelyn, Aiden, Jacklyn, and Bridget. She will also be remembered by her Step-grandchildren, Adam Fairley and Felicia Balasal as well as their children: Caleb, Barry and Louie.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Nancy’s life on Thursday, September 11, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, September 12, at 10:30 AM at Saint Thomas the Apostle RC Church, Route 18 South, Old Bridge, with interment to follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in East Brunswick at 11:45 AM.

Nancy’s warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family and community will remain in the hearts of all who loved her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered always.
