Patrick Joseph Stanton, 76, of Monroe Township, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
Born in New Brunswick, Pat was a lifelong resident of Monroe Township. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era. After his serving his Country, Pat went on to work for E.I. duPont and Company in Parlin for 41 years as an electrician, retiring in 2006. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. He enjoyed travelling throughout the United States, especially California's Napa Valley vineyards and, Hawaii, where he spent his 25th and 30th anniversaries with his loving wife Elaine. He also enjoyed his many trips to Europe and Australia.
Predeceased by his parents, Francis S. and Mary Stanton, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elaine Scofield Stanton, of Monroe Township; his brother, Francis X. Stanton and his wife, Joan; his sister, Maryann Stanton; his nephew and Godson, Roger Stanton and his wife, Andora, and his three great-nieces, Eva, Era and Aila.
Funeral services will begin at 9:00 AM. Saturday, September 30th, from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial from Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment will be in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, September 29th, from 5:00 until 9:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
