Raymond Reed, Sr.

Raymond Reed, Sr., 81, of Spotswood, died Monday, December 3, 2012 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick, Ray was raised there and in Highland Park before settling in Spotswood in the mid-1960's. He retired in 1993 from Paul's Trucking (now Supermarkets General) in Linden after more than 20 years of service with them. He was an avid hunter and he enjoyed camping and travelling around the country. He also enjoyed tinkering with cars and motorcycles in his spare time. Ray was a fan of the NY Yankees and an aficionado of opera. He was also his grandsons biggest fan when they played baseball. Predeceased by his siblings, Ray is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eileen (Zvolensky) Reed of Spotswood; his children, Deborah, David and Raymond Reed, Jr, all of Spotswood, Kenneth Reed and his wife Tara of Huntingdon, PA, Susan Kuderka and her husband William of Washington Twp. and Kathryn Reed and her companion Fred Garzon of Old Bridge; twelve grandchildren and; three great-grandchildren.
