Richard Bennett, Jr.

Richard Bennett, Jr., 72, of Spotswood, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick, Richard was a lifelong resident of Spotswood. He was a school bus driver for more than 20 years, retiring in 2003 from First Student Inc. of New Brunswick. He was a born again Christian for many years and was a member of the Church of Christ, formerly located in East Brunswick. He was a railroad buff who also enjoyed country music, TV westerns and antique cars. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Bennett; his sons, Richard III and Bryan Bennett, all of Spotswood, and; his brother, George Bennett of Hawaii. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, with interment following at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
