Rudolph Joseph Anania, 75, of Helmetta, died Friday, June 8, 2012 at CareOne, East Brunswick. Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Rudy lived in East Brunswick for many years before settling in Helmetta in 2004. He retired in the mid-90's from Local 697 of the Ironworkers, based in Roanoke, VA, where he worked for more than 20 years. Rudy worked from the Perth Amboy hall throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York City during his career. After his retirement, he spent time pursuing his passion of hunting and fishing. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Laura Anania, and his sister, Gloria Sabine, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia ( Palchik) Anania of Helmetta; his children, Mark Anania and his wife Kathy of Jamesburg, David Anania and his wife Jodi of East Brunswick, Debra Anania and her fiance Ron Vetrecin of Spotswood and Rick Anania of Spotswood; his brother Frank Anania and his wife Nancy Jonosko of Locust, and; his grandchildren, Alex, Gina, Beth, Paul and Paige. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. Cremation will be private. The family has requested that flowers not be sent for the visitation.
