Sandra Kerwin, 82, of Spotswood, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Sandy settled in Spotswood in 1956. She retired in the mid-2000s after 35 years as an administrator with the Monroe Township Construction Department and, she served as a Spotswood Borough councilwoman from 2002 to 2004..
Sandy, affectionately known to many as "Mimi" will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, social nature and her unique ability to make people laugh. Whether she was telling a funny story, delivering a perfectly timed witty remark or teasing her loved ones in a way that made everyone smile she brought fun to those around her.
Sandy was known for her keen resourcefulness always jumping in to help find solutions to problems. She never hesitated to lend a hand, offer advice or provide comfort when someone was in need.
Above all, Sandy cherished her family and friendships. Nothing brought her greater happiness than gathering with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren for holidays and special celebrations sharing stories and applauding in their accomplishments. Sandy followed their lives with pride, love and support always ready with encouragement or a warm hug or a laugh when most needed.
Sandy leaves countless memories for them and all who knew her whose lives were enriched by her kindness, laughter and most generous spirit.
Predeceased by her husband, Andrew Kerwin, Jr. in 2019 and her sister, Shelley Kurek, she is survived by her children, Stacey Frenze and her husband, David and Andrew Kerwin, III and his wife, Dana; her grandchildren, Alexa Ragnoli and her husband, Mark, Taylor Zino and her husband, Justin and, Paige Kerwin, and; her great-grandchildren, Ivy and Eden Ragnoli.
A private entombment has been entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home.
