Silvia M. Armhold, 90, of East Brunswick, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at her home.
Born and raised in Panama, Silvia came to the United States when she was 19 years old and lived in Spotswood, where she lived until 1952 when she settled in East Brunswick. Silvia worked as a seamstress for the Mary Jane Dress Company of South River before becoming a homemaker and raising her family. She enjoyed gardening and yard work, cooking family meals, hosting holidays and spending time with all of her family. She also enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City and, together with her late husband, William, making many cross cross-country trips around the United States.
Predeceased by her son Richard in 1966 and her husband William J. in 1987, she is survived by her five children, William Armhold and his wife Patricia, of Freehold, Jorge Armhold and his wife Marion, of North Carolina, Maria E. Armhold of Pennsylvania and, Linda J. and Patricia A. Armhold of East Brunswick; seven siblings who remain in Panama; many nieces and nephews; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 30th at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, followed by interment in Saint Rose of Lima Cemetery, Rt. 522, Freehold. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Silvia's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
