Sondra Smith

Sondra Smith, 82, of Monroe Township passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 at her home.

Born and raised in The Bronx, New York, Sondra lived in Old Bridge Township and Arizona before settling in Monroe Township. Sondra had many hobbies including sewing, decorating her home, shopping at the Freehold Mall, researching the latest skin care products, cooking, cleaning, baking chocolate chip cookies, buying lipstick at MAC Cosmetics, reading, watching HSN, and spending time with her family. She never missed a family member's birthday and if your picture made it on her refrigerator, you were considered lucky! Her two great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved sneaking them treats and learning all she could to help understand her great-granddaughter's autism. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. 

Predeceased by her son Stanley R. Smith in 1977 and her siblings Max and Donald Beckerman and Elaine Young, Sondra is survived by her husband of 64 years, Stanley Smith; her daughter Paulette Lebow and her husband Mort; a sister, Barbara Tell; a brother, Howard Beckerman; grandchildren Kimberly Tarriff and her husband Justin, and Christopher Mistretta; great-grandchildren Patrick and Brianne Tarriff, and; many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 14th at 1:00 PM at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in East Brunswick, under the direction of Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Spotswood.
