Theodore P. LaMotta, Jr, 70, of Browns Mills, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, following an extended illness.
Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, Ted made several moves before coming to Monroe Township in 1968 and, eventually settling in Browns Mills in 2023. He served in the United States Navy as a Seabee from 1981-1987. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union, Local 1006 of Milltown, retiring in 2010. He also worked for Bristol, Myers, Squibb for ten years prior to joining Local 1006. He was a member of the Spotswood Knights of Columbus, Council 4907 and, a volunteer firefighter with Monroe Township Fire Department station #1 and, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing and kayaking.
Predeceased by his parents, Esther and Theodore P. LaMotta, Sr., he is survived by his wife of four years, Michele LaMotta; his sister, Ginger Bench; a niece, Cheryl Riegler and her husband, Drew; a nephew, Jerry Bench and his wife, Denise; a stepson, Jonathan Bromley, and; his pet cat Thumper.
A private cremation was entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
