Thomas Lynch, Sr., 86, of Helmetta, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Born in South Amboy and raised in Sayreville, Tom settled in Helmetta in 1962. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the post Korean conflict era. He was the owner of Thomas Lynch and Sons Home Improvements for 40 years, retiring in 2009. Together with his brothers, Tom was one of the founders of Stalkers Rod and Gun Club, based in Stokes State Forest. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a dedicated fan of the New York Jets. Tom was a great father and husband who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Tom is predeceased by his son, Thomas Lynch, Jr. in 2020, his siblings, James and Edward Lynch, Dorothy Toomey, Jean Stern, Laura Sheehan, Colleen Kovach, Geraldine Knappenberger and Loretta Berenyi. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Lynch; his children, Jeffrey and Joseph Lynch, Gregory Lynch and his wife, Elizabeth and Donna Lynch; his brothers, William Lynch and his wife, Marie and John Lynch and his wife, Toni; fourteen grandchildren, and; nineteen great-grandchildren.
A private cremation has been entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home.
