Thomas Rogers, 83, of Helmetta passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 in Englishtown.
Born and raised in North Bergen, Tom also lived in West New York and East Brunswick for many years before settling in Helmetta in 2003. He attended Weehawkin High School where he lettered in basketball and football. He retired from the former Pathmark distribution facility in Avenel in 2000 after 15 years of service as a warehouse supervisor. Prior to that, Tom worked as an accountant for the former Frederick Atkins Company of New York City, New York. Tom was an avid fan of both the New York Yankees and Giants football team. He loved playing poker, he had a very sharp wit and great sense of humor, he was technically savvy, he enjoyed studying history and, he was an accomplished pianist. Tom loved to engage with his children and grandchildren and knew everything about their activities.
Predeceased by his brother Tim Rogers, he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maria Rogers of Helmetta; his 3 children, Thomas Rogers and his wife Cindi of Colorado, Lise Franchette and her husband Frank of Monroe Township and Lori Johnston and her partner Shawn Collins of Englishtown; his beloved sister-in-law Michele Conrey and her husband James, and; his grandchildren, Matt, Greg, Jordan, Carly, Glen, Corinne and Chelsea.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 24th from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. Cremation will be private.The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 23rd, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
