Thomas Sikorski, 83, of Spotswood, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Forest City, Pennsylvania, Tom was raised in Bayonne and settled in Spotswood in 1955. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After serving his country, he continued to work with the Air Force in a civilian capacity as an Avionics Technician at McGuire AFB for 30 years, retiring in 1985. Together with his wife, Myreal, Tom enjoyed traveling and spending time at the Jersey Shore, especially the areas of Spring Lake, Belmar, Bradley Beach and Avon. Tom was a 32nd degree Mason of the Philo Lodge, South River. He enjoyed following the NY Yankees and NY Giants. Above all, Tom was an extremely devoted husband and father, who will be missed dearly. Predeceased by his son, Thomas R. Sikorski in 2011, and his brother Joseph Sikorski in 2012, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Myreal Sikorski, of Spotswood; his daughter Patricia Latyn and her husband Richard, of Spotswood; his son Steven Sikorski of Neptune; his brother Edward Sikorski of Whiting, and; many nieces and nephews. Cremation was private. The family will receive friends at a Memorial Service on Saturday, April 20th, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood.
