Vidya Chawla

Vidya Prakash Chawla, 93, passed away at Overlook Medical Center on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 11:10 PM after a brief hospitalization. Arrangements are entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home.

Born in Lahore, British India, he came to United States in 1989.  He was an entrepreneur who successfully ran a retail business of watches and electronics in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, India. V.P. was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and devotee of Sant Nirankari Mission. With a mesmerizing smile he loved everyone. He touched every heart who came in his contact. He will be missed.

Predeceased by his wife Pawan in 2008, son Navin in 1993 and son-in-law Rajinder in 2018. V.P is survived by his daughters Neena, Neeru, Nishi and Monica; grandchildren, Sonali and her husband Mandeep, Lokesh and his wife Sushma, Meghna and her husband Puneet, Sakshi and Sadhika; 2 great grandchildren, Akansh and Sehnoor; and all brothers & sisters in law, many nieces & nephews in USA and India.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM on Saturday, November 5th in the Chapel at Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 NJ 27 North, North Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations honoring Vidya's memory be made to the Long Hill First Aid Squad at PO Box 145, Gilette, NJ 07933 or, the Sant Nirankari Mission of New Jersey at 762 Lidgerwood Avenue, Elizabeth, NJ 07202.
